Getting started · 0.2.11

Your first model, step by step.

Install the release, run the same maintained TET4 fixture by CLI or Python, then read the diagnostics and the limits of this smoke check. The site does not run the FEM calculation.

02

Download and inspect the input

The supplied tet4_static.json contains four nodes and one TET4 element. It uses isotropic steel (E = 210 GPa, ν = 0.3, density = 7,800 kg/m³), fixes all translations on three nodes, and applies 1,000 N along UX at node 1. It is a minimal API example, not a mesh-convergence benchmark.

Save the downloaded file as examples/tet4_static.json in your working directory, matching the commands below.

Download tet4_static.json

Inspect the versioned input ↗

03

Check the mesh, then solve

Run both commands from the working directory that contains the examples folder. Stop if the mesh report fails.

Code
qf-solver check-mesh --input examples/tet4_static.json
qf-solver solve --input examples/tet4_static.json --output results/tet4.json
04

Or use the public Python API

The API route uses the same input and explicit mesh gate before solving.

Code
from qf_solver import check_mesh, load_model, save_result, solve_model

model = load_model("examples/tet4_static.json")
report = check_mesh(model)
if report.status == "FAIL":
    raise RuntimeError(report.errors)

result = solve_model(model)
save_result(result, "results/tet4.json")

05

Read the diagnostics and scope

check_mesh returns PASS, WARNING or FAIL, with errors, warnings and details. Stop on FAIL. Investigate warnings, then inspect the reported residual and reaction balance. Retain the input, settings and result together. These commands run in your Python environment; this website does not run the FEM solve.

The Code_Aster fixture uses its own frozen load case. The one-element smoke example above is not that correlation run. Published maturity statuses remain tied to registry 0.2.8.
