Known limitations

Read these restrictions alongside the exact element–analysis combination and its separate workflow record.

Elements and materials

WEDGE15 is unsupported. PYRAMID5 is internal/research-only. Finite-kinematic J2 is not production-qualified. MITC4 modal remains experimental, and no blanket shell or beam qualification applies.

Contact and dynamics

Frictionless small-sliding penalty contact is bounded. Friction, impact, self-contact and general finite sliding are outside that claim. Mixed Newmark and harmonic are experimental-bounded linear serial workflows.

Formats and distributed computing

The .inp importer supports only its documented subset. HDF5 storage does not establish restart or parallel-HDF5 capability. Mixed PETSc/MPI is NOT_VALIDATED. Optional native runtimes must be installed separately.

Validation and platform coverage

Code_Aster comparisons apply only to comparable recorded cases. CalculiX is NOT_COMPARABLE where conventions, integration or observables differ. macOS and some Python versions are not claimed as tested without CI or reproducible evidence. There is no certification, industrial-equivalence or universal physical-validation claim.
