GYRO 06 · shaft and disk refinement

BEAM2 shaft and centered rigid axisymmetric disks at constant signed speed. GYRO 01 to 05 provide complementary formulation, analytical and tracking checks.

Model & assumptions

What was actually compared?

  • Serial dense SciPy quadratic eigenvalue problem.
  • 4, 8, 16 and 32 BEAM2 elements at 0, 100 and 250 rad/s.
  • Straight circular isotropic shaft, fixed global spin axis, small perturbations, no damping or prestress.
Scope boundaries

Where the evidence stops

  • Internal mesh convergence is not physical validation.
  • No forced response, unbalance amplitude, instability or validated critical speed prediction.
  • Variable speed, shaft gyros, general damping, contact, nonlinear rotors and distributed execution are outside scope.
